About WEFTshop
We are passionate about social justice and textiles, and believe creativity and collaboration have the power to transform lives.
WEFTshop identifies artisans from persecuted ethnic groups to work with, fostering and developing their traditional textile skills to create contemporary designs for Western consumers, enabling artisans to access a fair wage.
WEFTshop provides training and workshops to artisan groups to develop small creative business expertise, including design and production skills, marketing knowledge, and ability to train and support other refugee women.
WEFTshop addresses the lack of safe access to sales channels by marketing and selling artisans’ products in Australia.
At the heart of WEFTshop is relationships; relationships with our artisans, customers, supporters, volunteers and board. We are a global family supporting one another through creative expression/ endeavours. (block quote)
